1. What this site is

BrandMyRoadster.lol (“the Site”, “we”, “us”) is an independent project run by Rhys Adams to raise funds to purchase and operate a Tesla Roadster displaying the logos of participating businesses (“Supporters”). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Tesla, Inc. All product names, logos and brands mentioned belong to their respective owners.

2. Placing a bid

Bidding on a logo position starts at £50 and rises in £50 increments, except for flagship positions which use larger increments as shown on each listing. Each listing states the current minimum bid; the Site enforces this minimum on both the browser and the server, and any bid below the current minimum will be rejected.

3. Deposits

When a bid is accepted, we take a 25% deposit via Stripe. This deposit is non-refundable once paid, regardless of whether the remaining balance is subsequently settled. Displayed and charged amounts do not add back Stripe's own processing fees, which are deducted from the amount we receive; we do not separately invoice you for these fees.

4. Final payment and defaults

The remaining 75% balance is due once the vehicle has been delivered to us and before sign-writing begins. If a winning bidder does not settle the final balance within the period we specify by email, the position reopens for bidding and the original deposit is forfeited in full.

5. Logo content and site rules

You must own or hold a valid licence for any logo, mark or content you submit. We reserve the right to reject, at our sole discretion, any logo or business association that is unlawful, infringing, obscene, or that we reasonably consider would bring the project into disrepute — including but not limited to adult content, gambling operators without a valid UK licence, and content promoting hate or violence. We are not responsible for the content of any third-party website linked from a Supporter's listing or supporter page.

6. Bidding close and vehicle timeline

Bidding on a given position closes once we receive confirmation of the vehicle's delivery. The vehicle then goes for sign-writing within one week of delivery. We aim to contact relevant media outlets around this time but make no guarantee of coverage.

7. Holding company and funds

Funds raised are held by a dedicated holding company set up for this project, with its accounts supervised by Nuvo Accountancy. Funds are used to purchase, insure, sign-write and operate the vehicle, and to cover the reasonable costs of running this campaign.

8. Funding target and shortfall financing

We need to raise at least £200,000 before we go ahead and buy the vehicle, with a stretch target of £250,000. If total deposits and settled balances fall short of the £200,000 minimum by the time we need to proceed, we will bridge the difference ourselves with an interest-only loan taken out against the project. That loan (principal plus any interest accrued over the ownership period) is a first call on the eventual auction proceeds — see clause 9 below for the order in which the sale proceeds are applied.

9. End of ownership and charity auction

After approximately 2–3 years of ownership, we intend to auction the vehicle through a reputable auction service. The gross sale price is applied in this order:

1. the auction house's own fees and costs;
2. repayment in full of any shortfall-financing loan taken out under clause 8, including accrued interest;
3. any tax properly due on the sale;
4. the remaining balance, split between the UK-registered charities on our shortlist in proportion to the votes they've received — see our charity vote page.

10. No warranty

The Site and the project are provided “as is”. We do not guarantee any particular level of exposure, media coverage, or return on a Supporter's spend, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from participation.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

12. Card processing fees

Deposits from business bidders include an additional processing-fee line item, reflecting the fee our card processor (Stripe) charges us — UK card-issued transactions cost us approximately 1.4% + £0.20; cards issued outside the UK cost approximately 2.5% + £0.20. We are not permitted to add a card surcharge to a private individual's payment under UK consumer payment regulations, so private bidders are only ever charged 25% of their bid; we absorb the card fee on those payments ourselves.
